Jackie O's (actually an Irish pub and not a gay bar as I had previously assumed)is a microbrewery as well as a bar. The Empower campaign, the same organization that the 5K in October benefitted, hosted a beer tasting there. They sold 100 tickets, packing the tiny bar to Xanax-necessitating proportions, but after a few "tastes", it went from cramped to cozy.
Usually, when I start drinking at 3 p.m., little good comes out of it at all. This time, I was helping to support orphans in Uganda. And I'll raise a glass or seven to that.
